Adam Holzknecht, born in 1967, is a passionate alpinist and mountain guide. After secondary school, Adam trained as a carpenter and attended vocational school. Shortly after turning 18, he completed his mountain guide training and has since dedicated himself professionally to mountain sports. Adam has now been working as a mountain guide for nearly four decades and spent 25 years sharing his expertise as an instructor for mountain guides in South Tyrol. Furthermore, he is a long-standing instructor for Mountain Rescue and has been active in helicopter rescue for many years, currently serving as the President of the "Aiut Alpin Dolomites" rescue association.
Adam is regarded as an exceptionally talented climber and has traveled with friends and guests across all continents throughout his career. He has led tours in Yosemite, Tasmania, Patagonia, Norway and throughout the Alps - always drawn to where the mountains offer unique challenges. His passion lies in climbing in all its facets: summer and winter, rock and ice, especially in wild, lesser-known areas. He particularly enjoys guiding clients through steep Dolomite faces and has climbed all the major routes multiple times.
