The "King" Ortler (3,905 m) is the highest peak in South Tyrol, impressing with its glaciated summit and striking presence alongside its neighbors, the Königspitze and Zebru. The two most famous routes to the summit are the normal route via the Payer Hut and the Hintergrat ridge, which starts from the Hintergrat Hut. Both routes traverse rock, snow and ice, offering breathtaking views of the Ortler Group and far beyond. With a Catores mountain guide, the ascent of the Ortler becomes a special experience.
