Booking
To plan and book your desired tour, early registration is required. Tours can also be booked at short notice; however, during periods of high demand (especially in peak season), priority is given to guests with a confirmed reservation. Therefore, it may happen that we can no longer provide an available mountain guide.
Registration can be made via the following options:
The booking becomes binding as soon as it is confirmed via email and the requested deposit has been received by us.
Deposit
The deposit will be offset against the agreed final amount upon completion of the tour.
Program and Requirements
Every participant acts on their own responsibility regarding the assessment of their own skills. If there are any doubts as to whether a tour is too demanding, we recommend a preparatory tour so that the mountain guide can assess the participants in advance. On group tours, the mountain guide will pace the tour according to the weakest participant in the group. Information regarding health issues and/or physical limitations must be communicated during the registration process.
The mountain guide conducts the booked tour professionally, taking into account safety, weather conditions, and current alpine circumstances. For safety reasons, the mountain guide may alter the planned program, change the route or cancel the tour, e.g., due to unfavorable weather conditions, insufficient skills of the participants, or force majeure. If it is not possible to postpone the tour, the deposit will be refunded as a voucher.
Cancellations
The cancellation of a booked tour is possible at any time in writing (via email to info@catores.com). Below are the cancellation conditions applicable at Catores:
Day Tours
Multi-Day Tours
Tour Cancellation
The cancellation of a day tour due to weather and mountain conditions is at the sole discretion of the mountain guide, who makes this assessment to the best of their knowledge and belief, as well as after careful examination of all available underlying information. If a scheduled day tour cannot take place due to weather or conditions, the mountain guide will try to offer an equivalent alternative or, if possible, postpone the tour. For multi-day or weekly tours, the itinerary will be adapted to the conditions and weather, or alternative tours will be conducted. Even if not all planned tours can be carried out, the agreed price remains valid.
Group Tours
Our group tours are tailored to a minimum number of participants. If the required number of participants is not reached, the Catores Alpine School reserves the right to cancel the tour. In this case, the deposit paid will be fully refunded by the Catores Alpine School.
Insurance and Liability
According to the South Tyrolean Mountain Guide Law, all state-certified mountain and ski guides hold liability insurance. No insurance is included in the events organized by the Catores Alpine School. We therefore recommend that everyone ensures they have sufficient insurance coverage, such as cancellation, health, accident, mountain rescue, and travel cancellation insurance.
Anyone who spends a lot of time in the Dolomites and Alps can hardly avoid becoming a member of the Alpine Club (Alpenverein). It offers comprehensive, worldwide insurance coverage for mountain accidents along with many other benefits (e.g., cheaper overnight stays in mountain huts). Another insurance option is provided by the helicopter rescue service Aiut Alpin Dolomites, where several of our mountain guides work as rescuers and winch operators.
Photos/Promotional Material
Unless participants explicitly object, they agree that photos and videos taken during the tour may be used by the Catores Alpine School on digital media (e.g., social media, website, catalog).
Payment
Payment for the mountain guide's services can be made via bank transfer, Pay by Link, or cash at the office or after the tour. The payment method is to be arranged with the mountain guide or the office team.
