Wilhelm „Willi“ Comploi, born in 1979, lives with his family in Ortisei. Originally a electrical technician, he turned his passion into his profession in 2009 and has since been working as a mountain guide with the Catores team. For many years, he shared his expertise with the next generation as a mountain rescue instructor and climbing team coach.
After guiding guests all over the world and up many great peaks, Willi is now drawn back more strongly to his home in the Dolomites. He is particularly fond of the clear, golden autumn days and their profound silence. In his private life, he is almost always found in the vertical world—climbing in the summer and passionately ice climbing in the winter. And when the mountains take a back seat, Willi enjoys nothing more than a good plate of pasta with a glass of wine.
