Born in 1977, Veronika Schrott found her true calling in the mountains around the age of 20, following her education at art school and her work as a technical draftsperson. What began as a hobby quickly evolved into a philosophy of life: from then on, she spent every spare minute in the steep faces of the Dolomites.
Her path was defined by determination. After being an active member of the Mountain Rescue Service for several years, she became the first woman ever to be named a "Cator" in 2005. At a time when the mountain guiding profession was still a purely male domain, Veronika pursued her dream with courage and perseverance. In 2010, she achieved her goal and successfully passed her exam to become a certified mountain guide.
Today, Veronika balances her primary work as a mountain guide with her family life as a mother of twins. When she isn't guiding guests safely through the mountains, she still prefers to spend her free time on rock or ice. For Veronika, mountaineering is not just a job, but a lifelong passion that she passes on to her clients with great joy and precision.
