Martin, born in 1994, is a mountaineer and climber by passion: even as a child, he was drawn to the mountains and soon honed his skills within the local sport climbing team. Over time, he discovered the alpine world and expanded his passion to all forms of alpinism. Together with friends and mountain guide colleagues, he completed several first ascents in the Dolomites at a young age, for which he was honored with the "Alpinen Förderpreis" of the Alpine Club in 2013.
While studying engineering in Innsbruck, Martin completed his mountain guide training and has been working at the Alpine School since 2018. Today, he is a full-time mountain guide, contributing his extensive knowledge in all areas of the profession – from climbing and ski touring to training for mountain rescue and the "Alpinist" project of the local Alpine Club.
In addition to mountaineering, Martin's heart beats for mountain and helicopter rescue: he serves as a winch operator for Aiut Alpin Dolomites and, like all Catores, is a member of the Val Gardena Mountain Rescue. Since 2025, Martin has been the head of the Alpine School, where he and his team strengthen and carry forward the valley's long tradition of mountain guiding.
