Buj dla Bleja – Easy ice climb in Val Gardena

Tucked away just outside of Ortisei in Val Gardena lies an easily accessible canyon that is ideal for everyone – whether you want to try ice climbing for the very first time or have already discovered a passion for it. Nestled within the canyon, the ice climb spans six pitches, alternating between steep steps and walking sections.

The short vertical steps at the beginning are perfect for getting familiar with ice climbing techniques alongside the Catores mountain guides. As you move higher, the climbing sections become increasingly steep and sustained. Under good conditions, a 15-meter-high ice pillar awaits at the finish for anyone who still has enough stamina. Afterward, we abseil back down along the ascent route.
